Gas Technician 2 Co-op (see Note: below)

About G2 Co-op

Note: Beginning September 2018 we will be replacing the G2 Co-op with a G2 Challenge course for qualifying certificate holders.

Third-Party Funding - Contracts under this arrangement are signed by third party payers/employers and not with the general public.

The Gas Technician 2 Co-op approved course is a beneficial upgrade to persons currently working in the heating industry. Upon successful completion of the course you will be issued a certificate from TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority).

Qualifying certificate holders will now be able to reduce their time in class by half. This course combines on the job training and class time to complete the required training hours (420 hours) needed for a Gas Technician 2 certificate.

In order to obtain a certificate from the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), the candidate will be required to:

1) Successfully complete a training program delivered through a Training Provider that is
registered with, and accredited by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority.
2) Score an overall average of 75% or greater on the TSSA examination(s).
3) Receive an average score of 75% or higher on the practical evaluation.
4) Maintain an 80% attendance record.

TSSA certification theory exams are administered at the end of the course.

A Hybrid Future in Learning

Say the word "Hybrid" and what may come to mind first is an environmentally friendly, fuel-efficient car. However, as the demand for a certified, achieved recognized level of skills and knowledge increases, TS Technical College is discovering the many benefits of hybrid learning, including flexible scheduling and increased understanding by organizations and individuals about the activity in which they are involved.

Several trends are coming together that create a need for on-the-job recognition and understanding, in regards to supporting current and growing green initiatives that tackle climate change. Nationally, the federal government has made these issues a priority, especially in the Oil & Gas Industry, considered strategic for economic and security growth. Concern for the environment is one of the core values of TS Technical College, and was from the moment we opened our doors 12 years ago. Our Hybrid courses are designed to help improve the global competitiveness of business and industry through ensuring that their many workers are prepared.

Talk is one thing, real action is another!
