No Oil Burner Technician 1 certificate holder on staff. No problem.
TSSA has authorized TS Technical College to offer a OBT 1 GAP program course, the only Training Provider in Ontario approved to offer this course.
This course is recognized by TSSA as equivalent to the 500 hour prerequisite under the direct supervision of an Oil Burner Technician 1 certificate holder.
125 hours of class/practical

Please note: NOTE: 90% attendance required for this course. The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities has determined that this course is exempt from registration and approval from them as it is being offered as a Third-Party Funded course (Corporate Training) We invite you visit their website for details. http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/general/private.html New – TSSA charges $75.00 for an exam that is ordered and not used. Cancellations are permitted 10 business days prior to exam date. Substitute participants are not permitted. *Third-Party Funded courses do not qualify for issuance of a T2202A slip.

Prerequisite

OBT 2 certificate
Actively working in the industry with a valid OBT 2 certificate
Provide proof of 3,500 hours of work experience as an OBT 2 (on company letterhead)
Third-Party Funded course.
